During 17-10 November 2008 held in Tunis a conference on "Role of women on the political parties in the Arab World". The conference held within the framework of the Arab Liberal Network, Handi Zghaire from the Arab Thought Forum was among the participants among the participants.
The conference discussed the situation of the Palestinian women as reflected by the crisis facing the Palestinian society. The conference came with three main recommendations covering:
1. Activating the role of women within the framework of liberal Arab parties
2. Promoting the social and cultural dimension of gender issues including means to avoid discrimination against women.
3. Updating the legal framework concerning women.
